FACTS ABOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER

  • Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 19 in the U.S.
  • One in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 20 years old.
  • Childhood cancer creates a devastating economic burden on families.  Medical, travel and other out-of-pocket expenses can cripple a family, especially in cases where one or both parents are faced to take extended absences from work, or in some cases lose their employment altogether.

SUPPORT OUR HEROES

With your support, RLF has been able to ensure families receive financial assistance in order to: receive the best treatment, which often times, requires travel away from home; help offset the potential loss of income due to reduced or terminated parental employment; out-of -pocket expenses including: lodging, gas, food, etc. In addition, we provide necessities and wishlists, compiled by multiple childhood cancer families, for families currently in treatment.
